What to expect
From start to finish, your vision is my vision. When you first sit down, we discuss what style of lip treatment you’d like. We start by using a makeup pencil to draw out the style you envision until it’s absolutely perfect. From there we’ll pick up the appropriate needle and carry out the procedure.
The pigment is applied gently and can take anywhere between an 2 – 2.5 hours depending on the style. You’ll be able to see what’s going on the entire time and we work through the process together. Please be aware full pre-care and after-care will be discussed in your consultation and directly after your treatment, as well as an aftercare leaflet provided.
Permanent makeup isn’t about vanity, it’s about being able to wake up in the morning and be free of one extra job that you need to begin your day. So book with SSC today for a thorough consultation.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
For the first week the colour will look more intense, but then the pigment will fade down and results will appear very natural. You then have a 6 week top up to implant the final lasting finish.
-
Anaesthetic is applied prior to and during your procedure in order to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. Most people will feel nothing at all though some clients describe the sensation as a “tingling” feeling.
-
If you follow the given aftercare advice your area will appear healed after 1 week but the skin itself will not be fully healed until 4-6 weeks.
-
In order to keep your PMU in perfect condition it is advised to have a top-up every 12-18 months, as your long term results will be affected by many things such as pigment colour, medications, chemical products, Sun/UV exposure and cosmetics etc. The cost of this can be found on my price list.
-
The pigments I use are Tina Davis, Colour Essence, Hanami and Permablend. All pigments meet the high standard criteria for the health and cosmetic regulations.
-
Yes, straight after your treatment the area will be slightly red and swollen but nothing unsightly or embarrassing.
-
No one method is better than another as it all comes down to personal preference, skin type and colouring but all of these will be taken into consideration during your consultation and we will discuss your desired outcome. The difference between blush and full colour is that blush is soft natural subtle daytime look as opposed to full colour being like a fresh application of bold lipstick.
-
Absolutely 100% this is a legal requirement and a patch test will be sent out to you in the post with easy to follow instructions. Unfortunately, if you become red, itchy or raw you cannot undergo the treatment.
-
Yes, no exercise immediately before. No hot baths, tea/coffee or stimulants (decaf is okay) prior to treatment. You will be given an advice sheet prior to your appointment detailing any preparation you need to do the day of your appointment.
-
Absolutely not, your second appointment is not always necessary if you and I are happy with the final result 4 weeks later, as not everyone wants or needs to go fuller or bolder as some people wish to keep a very subtle, natural and soft look and get their top up annually. However, the second appointment is to fine tune i.e. go darker, create more symmetry and refill areas if the skin has absorbed the pigment too much.
N.B. – If you sleep on one side more than the other pigment may fade more on this side.
